This track half marathon was created after a number of runners experienced extreme frustration with mis-measured and mis-managed half marathons over the course of several years. The inaugural event took place in 2014, hosting a solid field of 6 full-distance finishers, ranging from 73:30 to 79:18. The course consists of 52.5 laps around a 440-yard community track at Duniway Park in Portland, OR. Because it's a yard track, Duniway is exactly 4 laps to the mile. By all accounts, it is a very fast course! Competitors are responsible for keeping track of their own laps (and can bring a friend if desired to help count/record), taking any splits desired, and recording their own finish times, as no official timing system yet been implemented. There is no entry fee, and participants of all paces are welcome.
